 Grades 3-5

Students will focus on career awareness and development through various career awareness/ exploration projects and activities that focus on identifying interests and how they relate to careers (Virginia Careers website and interest inventory, etc.). Through identifying interests and careers, students can then begin to gain exposure about the many post-secondary options and plan for those options as they begin their journey through middle and high school.

How do we inform, update, and provide multiple opportunities to parents at the Elementary Schools about the academic and career planning services their child receives:

  • Homelinks from universal counseling curriculum focusing on skills for learning.
  • Family letters/newsletters mailed home
  • Activation codes for parent access to Second Steps curriculums online
  • Completed activities/classroom exercises sent home with students
