Spartans Thankful For Nemadji Women’s Golf League
The Spartan Girls Golf Team continues to turn heads as the 2026 season rolls on. Recently, Superior took first place in the Heart O’North golf match. That success is attributed to the hard work they have put in on and off the links, as well as consistent support from the Nemadji Women’s League. Since 2010, the women’s league, President Barb Hoag and members Deb Mayhew and Judy Davern, have donated over $8,800 to the program. That financial support has allowed the team to purchase several new pieces of equipment and training aids, including 25 Spartan golf bags, golf towels, rangefinders, grip trainers, golf simulator, and much more.
“We truly are blessed by their constant support,” said head golf coach Ed Willie. “Our students are treated like professionals and it’s all thanks to the Nemadji Women’s League. They have ensured that our players get better every year and are ready to make a deep run in the postseason. This is probably the most talented and deepest team I’ve ever had.”
The partnership goes both ways. During the summer, the girls' team volunteers at the annual Women’s Club Invitational and Championship. The Spartans help move golf bags and equipment, lending a hand wherever needed.
The School District of Superior and Superior High School would like to formally thank Nemadji Golf Course, the Nemadji Women’s League, Deb Mayhew, and everyone who has worked to make the program a success.
The Superior High School Girls Golf Team will host its next match on September 15 against Barron. The Spartans will also host the program's first WIAA Division 1 Regional since 2018 on October 1. You see the full team schedule online.
